Today, I have stumbled upon an interesting game titled Plague Inc. It is a game that requires strategy and patience. The game starts off with a menu that lets you decide from numerous types of plagues. The choices range from ‘bacteria’ to the chemically engineered ‘bio-weapon’.

Then, you are given the opportunity to name your disease and a region in the world map where to start spreading your virus. From there, your task is to evolve symptoms and improve the transmission of your virus until you have successfully eliminated all life from earth.

As I mindlessly started to play the game, I chose the Neurax Worm to start off my epidemic. When I was given the chance to name my chosen disease, I had a humorous decision of naming it ‘Love’. I thought it would be ironic that the elimination of a population would be the literal notion of ‘spreading the love’.

I continued to play the game, patiently waiting for notifications and news of the damage that ‘Love’ has caused. Time passed and one notification after the other, I began to have a spark of interest on the topic of love and the ways it affects a human being. This urged me to start my own research and to create a hypothetical situation that involved the spread of ‘Love’ across the world.

When I started my research, I found out that I wasn’t the only one that ever thought, “What if Love was actually a deadly disease?”. In that moment, I knew this was when my journey began to the real discovery of ‘Love’.
